This role is being hired by Kubenine on behalf of our partner Solutions By Text (SBT). Kubenine manages the sourcing and interview process; the selected candidate will work with SBT's engineering team. All applications are shared with SBT as part of the hiring process.

About the Role

SBT is looking for a proactive Site Reliability Engineer to maintain high availability, scalability and performance across its AWS cloud ecosystem. You'll bridge software engineering and operations — building automated delivery pipelines, implementing proactive monitoring, managing containerized applications and driving incident response.

What You'll Do

• Reliability & Incident Management Monitor production systems, lead operational triage, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative measures to protect availability and performance.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Containerization Manage AWS core compute and networking services (EC2, ECS Fargate, S3, VPC, Route 53) and maintain containerized workflows using Docker.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code Write and maintain IaC using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to automate provisioning and reduce operational toil.
• CI/CD Pipeline Support Maintain and optimize automated build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins and shell/OS scripting.
• Observability & Alerting Configure metrics, log aggregation and alerting frameworks using Datadog or AWS CloudWatch for proactive platform health monitoring.
• Cloud Security & Quality Governance Maintain cloud perimeter security using AWS WAF and AWS GuardDuty, and assist with code quality and license compliance tooling.

What You'll Bring

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure Operations
• Strong scripting proficiency in Bash, PowerShell or Python
• Hands-on expertise with Docker
• Working experience with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
• Practical experience with VPC, Route 53, EC2, ECS Fargate, S3, AWS WAF and AWS GuardDuty
• Experience configuring and maintaining Jenkins deployment pipelines
• Practical experience establishing metrics, logs and alerts in Datadog or AWS CloudWatch

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with integrating AI tools, protocols or agents into DevOps workflows
• Experience with Active Directory management
• 1+ year of software development experience in any language (C# or Python preferred)
• Familiarity with SonarQube and Mend (formerly WhiteSource)
• Exposure to GitHub Actions
• Basic understanding of AWS Control Tower and AWS Security Hub
